Evaluation question 1
In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
The typical conventions of a thriller are for it to have areas of pure suspense making the viewer/audience feel intriqued to watch on. I feel that our Thriller meets that particular convention. The victim is told to meet at the park and the non-copyright music (blackroom) we found for our opening caused suspense as it was a strong peace that would make any viewer worry about whats happening next. Another main convention for a Thriller is using a range of different shot types, close-ups, point of views, jump cuts etc. Our Thriller uses point of views, jump cuts and long shots of the victim during the sequence this shows a variety of perspectives and used together give the sequence a distinct feel.
This shot from the thriller Fargo shows how our Thriller can be seen to have met the criteria of the particular thriller conventions as it has the same weather used. Filming in the snow gives the Thriller that worrying feeling as its a cold atmosphere etc.

evaluation question 6
what have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?
the technologies we have used are blogger, final cut express, youtube, camera, Moby gratis etc.
we used these technologies for various reasons. youtube was used to upload our films to the internet to give the wider audience a chance to watch our piece also allowing us to easily upload to our blogs. using our mobile phones were also helpful during the filming process, as it allowed to quickly take photos of locations or events to our blog where ever we were.google allowed us to find a number of resources and information that helped and inspired us when it came to thinking of ideas for our thriller. also more social forms of technology were used like Facebook along with survey monkey. this allowed us to make a survey and spread it to gain audience research. From these technologies we have learned that they are a very important factor to filming and making a film. we have learned how to use cameras properly and have learned to use websites such as blogger and survey monkey with confidence.

evaluation question 7
preliminary task
finished thriller
i believe that we have learnt and improved on a lot of things from when we filmed our preliminary task.
when filming the preliminary task we were not as organised, this can be seen through out the preliminary there are continuity errors and the editing is not that good. however when filming out thriller we now knew problems we would face with organisation and because of this we were able to plan ahead, and filming went smoother than it did when filming our preliminary.
the thriller gave us the opportunity to try out allot of different camera angels compared to the preliminary . we also gain'd more experience in editing , our shots were allot smoother and there was continuity through out, we also added transition and effects.

Survey Monkey
In todays lesson I answered questions for our survey. We gained sufficient feedback from many different people in the class.
Panic Room analysis
We also analyzed the opening sequence to 'panic room'. I realised that throughout it the names of actors were in a almost architectural type of format. They seemed to look like high rise buildings of new york. The opening sequence was of the high rise buildings of new york. The shot then moves to the protagonist of the thriller. The music throughout the sequence has a clock affect to it.
Seven opening sequence analysis
In lesson we watched the opening sequence of Seven. We analyzed the speed of the edits. How it creates suspense to the audience to wonder what the film will be about.
audience research
today we filmed our audience research asking different people their views of thrillers:
What do you look for in a thriller?
What is your favorite thriller?
What is your favorite genre?
What was the most recent thriller you watched?
And did you enjoy it?

analysis of past students work
I have embedded a piece of coursework submitted by students in the past. This piece of coursework was submitted as a thriller. This is a rather good and effective piece of coursework as it uses many different camera angles. Also various different locations of filming. They create suspense when the girl gets a text and goes to meet up with the person who sent it, the meet up point is in a dis-used garage park. This creates suspense as us as the audience don't actually know what she is going to put herself into. The use the idea of a door slamming shut to cause fear within the character and created a spooky atmosphere. The name of the thriller is very affective as from that point you wonder what the rest of the thriller could consist of.
production meeting- call sheet dillema

Modern Thrillers- No country for old men
In this clip that miss showed us in class there are lots of edits showing the landscape and this helps generate a perspective. The cameraworkis key as it is smooth. The camera is moving as the characters in the shot are.
Modern Thrillers- A history of violence
The music in the opening of 'A history of violence' helps cause suspense. The general body language was that of a slow nature. There is a contrast of colours with the characters, there is a man wearing a black suit and a guy wearing a white shirt and jeans. The black suit can show that specific character as being very sinister and look as if he has an important job to do. The man in the casual clothes can be seen to be the accomplice of the man in the expensive suit. The costume, hair and make-up part of the mise en scene help give a good outline of the characters. Through the course of the sequence there are very little edits which helps create a feeling within the sequence. The weather in the sequence is of a hot nature and helps show exhaustion and lazyness.
production meeting-call sheet
Today in media we had a meeting and produced a call sheet for the filming needed to produce the thriller opening. This help provide people with a clear outline of where an when to meet in order to do our filming. This call sheet entails the procedure of the filming and the crew etc to give it a smooth run when we eventually start the filming.
