Survey Monkey
In todays lesson I answered questions for our survey. We gained sufficient feedback from many different people in the class.
Panic Room analysis
We also analyzed the opening sequence to 'panic room'. I realised that throughout it the names of actors were in a almost architectural type of format. They seemed to look like high rise buildings of new york. The opening sequence was of the high rise buildings of new york. The shot then moves to the protagonist of the thriller. The music throughout the sequence has a clock affect to it.
Seven opening sequence analysis
In lesson we watched the opening sequence of Seven. We analyzed the speed of the edits. How it creates suspense to the audience to wonder what the film will be about.
audience research
today we filmed our audience research asking different people their views of thrillers:
What do you look for in a thriller?
What is your favorite thriller?
What is your favorite genre?
What was the most recent thriller you watched?
And did you enjoy it?

analysis of past students work
I have embedded a piece of coursework submitted by students in the past. This piece of coursework was submitted as a thriller. This is a rather good and effective piece of coursework as it uses many different camera angles. Also various different locations of filming. They create suspense when the girl gets a text and goes to meet up with the person who sent it, the meet up point is in a dis-used garage park. This creates suspense as us as the audience don't actually know what she is going to put herself into. The use the idea of a door slamming shut to cause fear within the character and created a spooky atmosphere. The name of the thriller is very affective as from that point you wonder what the rest of the thriller could consist of.
production meeting- call sheet dillema
we had previously arranged to film on wednesday 18th January we will have to re-schedule this to wednesday 25th January. This problem is due to the fact that some member of the production, are not available at this time.

Modern Thrillers- No country for old men
In this clip that miss showed us in class there are lots of edits showing the landscape and this helps generate a perspective. The cameraworkis key as it is smooth. The camera is moving as the characters in the shot are.
Modern Thrillers- A history of violence
The music in the opening of 'A history of violence' helps cause suspense. The general body language was that of a slow nature. There is a contrast of colours with the characters, there is a man wearing a black suit and a guy wearing a white shirt and jeans. The black suit can show that specific character as being very sinister and look as if he has an important job to do. The man in the casual clothes can be seen to be the accomplice of the man in the expensive suit. The costume, hair and make-up part of the mise en scene help give a good outline of the characters. Through the course of the sequence there are very little edits which helps create a feeling within the sequence. The weather in the sequence is of a hot nature and helps show exhaustion and lazyness.
production meeting-call sheet
Today in media we had a meeting and produced a call sheet for the filming needed to produce the thriller opening. This help provide people with a clear outline of where an when to meet in order to do our filming. This call sheet entails the procedure of the filming and the crew etc to give it a smooth run when we eventually start the filming.
